Instructies

  • Boil plenty of water in a pot or saucepan for the noodles.
  • Discard the top of the kohlrabi, then peel and dice it into 1cm cubes.
  • Melt a knob of butter in a lidded frying pan over medium-high heat and fry the kohlrabi for 4 minutes.
  • Deglaze with a splash of water, then cover with the lid and allow to stew gently for 8 - 10 minutes, adding more water if necessary. Remove the lid during the final 2 minutes of cooking time.

  • Meanwhile, crush or mince the garlic.
  • Deseed and finely chop the red chili pepper.
  • Heat a drizzle of sunflower oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat and fry the chicken thigh strips with the garlic and red chili pepper* for 7 minutes.
  • Boil the noodles for 4 - 5 minutes until al dente. Reserve some of the cooking liquid, then drain and set aside.

*Take care, this ingredient is spicy! Use as preferred.

  • Use a sharp knife to remove the skin and the white pith from the orange and then dice the flesh. Do this over a bowl to catch all the juice and squeeze any excess juices from the oranges after they have been segmented.
  • Cut the radishes into small wedges. 
  • Chop the coriander.
  • When the chicken is done, add the East-Asian style sauce, soy sauce, orange juice and white wine vinegar to the chicken and mix well (see Tip). 

Tip: If you'd like the noodles to be spicier, add sambal as preferred (if you have it).

  • Add the noodles, kohlrabi, orange and radishes to the chicken and mix. Add cooking liquid as preferred and season to taste with salt and pepper.
  • Serve the noodles with chicken and vegetables in a bowl and garnish with the coriander and peanuts.
