Cooking Steps

Prepare
1
  • Heat a drizzle of sunflower oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Meanwhile, quarter the potatoes.
  • Fry the potatoes for 18 - 20 minutes, covered, stirring regularly.
  • Discard the ends of the green beans and then cut them in half.
  • Slice the onion into half rings.
Fry the green beans
2
  • Heat another drizzle of sunflower oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry the onion and green beans for 10 - 12 minutes.
  • Deglaze the pan with 1 tbsp of water per person and then add in the ginger stir-fry sauce and sambal (see pantry for amount). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Crush or mince the garlic.
Fry the steak
3
  • Take the steak out of the fridge and allow it to reach room temperature. Melt the butter in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
  • When the butter is nice and hot, fry the steak for 8 - 10 minutes per side (see Tip).
  • Remove from the pan and season with pepper, then allow to rest for at least 3 minutes under aluminum foil.
  • Add the garlic, sesame seeds and soy sauce (see pantry for amount) to the remaining butter in the pan and simmer for 1 minute.

Tip: If preferred, fry for 1 - 3 minutes for a rare steak or 3 - 5 minutes for medium.

Serve
4
  • Serve the fried potatoes on plates, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve the green beans alongside the potatoes.
  • Serve the steak next to the vegetables.
  • Drizzle the garlic-soy jus over the steak.
