- Preheat the oven to 200°C and prepare the stock.
- Chop the onion. Wash or peel the carrot and then thinly slice it.
- Melt a knob of butter in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Fry the carrot and onion for 4 - 5 minutes, then add the mince and fry for 3 minutes, separating it as you do so.
- Add the onion chutney, the turmeric, the curry powder and the stock.
- Bring to a boil and cook for 2 - 3 minutes until thickened and reduced. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Transfer the filling to an oven dish and top with the pastry.
- Pierce the surface several times with a fork, then bake in the oven for 20 - 25 minutes until golden-brown.
- In the meantime, discard the tips of the green beans.
- Transfer to a pot or saucepan and cover with a shallow layer of water, then add a pinch of salt.
- Cover with the lid and bring to a boil, then allow to cook gently for 6 - 8 minutes or until al dente.
- Drain and then season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Serve the pie on plates with the green beans alongside.
