  • Verwarm de oven voor op 200 graden.
  • Was of schil de aardappelen en snijd in grove stukken. Zet de aardappelen onder water in een pan met deksel en kook, afgedekt, in 12 - 15 minuten gaar. Giet af en laat uitstomen zonder deksel. 
  • Snijd de wortel in kleine blokjes. Snipper de ui en pers de knoflook of snijd fijn. Snijd de prei in de lengte in vieren en snijd vervolgens fijn.
Vulling maken

  • Verhit de helft van de roomboter in een hapjespan op middelhoog vuur en bak de wortel en prei 2 - 3 minuten.
  • Voeg de ui en knoflook toe en bak 2 minuten mee.
  • Voeg vervolgens het gehakt toe en bak in 3 - 4 minuten los.
  • Bereid ondertussen de bouillon.

Puree maken

  • Voeg het laurierblad en per persoon: 1/2 blikje tomatenpuree, 3 tl worcestershiresaus, 1 tl gedroogde tijm en 1/2 el bloem toe aan de hapjespan. Meng alles goed door elkaar en voeg vervolgens de bouillon toe.
  • Laat het geheel 8 - 10 minuten zachtjes koken. Breng op smaak met peper en zout.
  • Stamp de aardappelen met een aardappelstamper tot een grove puree. Voeg een scheutje melk, de overige roomboter en de mosterd toe en stamp goed door. Breng op smaak met peper en zout.
Serveren

  • Haal het laurierblad uit de saus. Schep vervolgens de saus in een ovenschaal.
  • Verdeel de aardappelpuree eroverheen en bestrooi met de geraspte kaas. Bak de ovenschotel 15 - 20 minuten in de oven, of tot de kaas goudbruin is.
  • Verdeel de ovenschotel over de borden.
