Cooking Steps

Voorbereiden

  • Breng ruim water aan de kook in een pan voor de rijst en verkruimel 1/4 bouillonblokje per persoon boven de pan.
  • Pers de knoflook of snijd fijn.
  • Snijd de wortel in dunne plakjes. Snijd de bloem van de broccoli in roosjes en de steel in blokjes.
  • Verhit 1/2 el olijfolie per persoon in een koekenpan met deksel op middelhoog vuur en fruit de knoflook en wortel 1 minuut.

Weetje: Dithiolthionen zijn bioactieve stoffen die voorkomen in knoflook. Ze hebben een positief effect op het cholesterolgehalte en werken als antioxidant.

Rijst koken

  • Kook ondertussen de rijst 10 - 12 minuten in de pan. Giet daarna af en laat uitstomen.
  • Voeg de broccoli en 3 el water per persoon toe aan de koekenpan van de wortel. Dek de pan af en stoof in 8 - 10 minuten gaar.
Kip bakken

  • Snijd de bosui in stukken van 2 cm.
  • Rijg de kip en de bosui om en om aan een spies (zie Tip). 
  • Verhit de overige olijfolie in een koekenpan op middelhoog vuur. Bak de kipspiesen 3 - 4 minuten per kant, of tot ze goudbruin en gaar zijn.
  • Voeg in de laatste minuut de zoete Aziatische saus en het sesamzaad toe en laat de saus karamelliseren.

Tip: Heb je weinig tijd? Rijg de kipstukjes en bosui dan niet aan een spies, maar bak ze los in de pan. Minder werk, maar wel even lekker!

  • Verdeel de groenten en de rijst over de borden.
  • Leg op ieder bord 2 kipspiesen.
  • Schenk de saus over de groenten en de rijst.
  • Voeg eventueel sojasaus naar smaak toe.
