Cooking Steps

Prepare

  • Boil plenty of salted water in a pot or saucepan for the farfalle.
  • Cut the bell pepper into thin strips and dice the tomato.
  • Chop the onion and crush or mince the garlic.
  • Roughly chop the basil.

Fry the sausage

  • Heat the olive oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat and fry the sausages for 3 minutes until evenly browned.
  • Remove from the pan and set aside, then fry the garlic and onion for 1 minute.
  • Add the bell pepper and tomato and fry for 3 more minutes. Meanwhile, slice the sausages.
  • Boil the farfalle for 10 - 13 minutes, then drain and set aside.
Make the sauce

  • To the vegetables, add the cream, the Sicilian spices, the roasted bell pepper sauce and the sliced sausages.
  • Mix well, then cover with the lid and allow to simmer for 6 minutes.
  • Transfer the farfalle to the sauce and toss well to combine.
  • Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Serve

  • Serve the sausage farfalle on plates.
  • Garnish with the grated cheese and the basil.
