- Boil plenty of salted water in a pot or saucepan.
- Cook the pasta for 9 - 11 minutes, then drain and set aside.
- Cut the bell pepper into thin strips and dice the tomato.
- Chop the onion and crush or mince the garlic. Roughly chop the basil.
- Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat and fry the sausages for 3 minutes until evenly browned.
- Remove from the pan and set aside, then fry the garlic and onion for 1 minute.
- Add the bell pepper and tomato and fry for 3 more minutes.
- Slice the sausages, then return them to the pan.
- To the pan, add the cream, the Sicilian-style herbs and the roasted bell pepper sauce.
- Mix well, then cover with the lid and allow to simmer for 6 minutes.
- Transfer the pasta to the sauce and toss well to combine.
- Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Serve the pasta on plates.
- Garnish with the cheese and the basil.
