Cooking Steps

Prepare

  • Boil plenty of salted water in a pot or saucepan.
  • Cook the pasta for 9 - 11 minutes, then drain and set aside. 
  • Cut the bell pepper into thin strips and dice the tomato.
  • Chop the onion and crush or mince the garlic. Roughly chop the basil.
Fry the sausages

  • Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat and fry the sausages for 3 minutes until evenly browned.
  • Remove from the pan and set aside, then fry the garlic and onion for 1 minute.
  • Add the bell pepper and tomato and fry for 3 more minutes.
  • Slice the sausages, then return them to the pan.
Make the sauce

  • To the pan, add the cream, the Sicilian-style herbs and the roasted bell pepper sauce.
  • Mix well, then cover with the lid and allow to simmer for 6 minutes.
  • Transfer the pasta to the sauce and toss well to combine.
  • Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Serve

  • Serve the pasta on plates.
  • Garnish with the cheese and the basil.
