Cooking Steps

  • Boil plenty of water in a pot or saucepan and cook the rice for 12 - 15 minutes, then drain and set aside.
  • Heat a drizzle of sunflower oil in wok or deep frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry the vegetable mix for 5 - 7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

  • Heat a light drizzle of sunflower oil in a frying pan and fry the rest of the eggs.
  • Heat a drizzle of sunflower oil in another frying pan over high heat. 
  • Fry the pork strips for 2 - 3 minutes, or until done. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • In the last minute of cook time, add half of the ketjap.

  • In a bowl, whisk together 1 egg per person.
  • Move the vegetables to the side and fry the whisked eggs for 2 - 3 minutes until scrambled.
  • Reduce heat to medium, then add the nasi-bami spice mix, the oyster sauce and the cooked rice and cook, tossing until fragrant, 1 minute. Season with salt and pepper. (@chiara kan jij misschien kijken of nu nog die 1 el ketjap nodig is? Anders mag die erbij :))

  • Serve the fried rice in deep plates.
  • Top with the babi ketjap and the fried egg.
