Cooking Steps

Prepare
1
  • Take the steak out of the fridge and allow it to reach room temperature.
  • Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat and fry the potato wedges for 15 minutes until golden-brown. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Chop the onion and Romano pepper into half rings and slice the mushrooms.
Fry the vegetables
2
  • Heat a light drizzle of olive oil in a frying pan with a lid over medium-high heat.
  • When the pan is nice and hot, add the steak and sear it for 30 seconds on each side. Remove the steak from the pan, season it with pepper, and allow it to rest under aluminium foil.
  • Add a light drizzle of olive oil to the same pan and fry the onion for 2 - 3 minutes.
  • Add the Romano pepper and mushrooms and fry for 7 - 9 minutes.
Finish
3
  • Slice the steak.
  • Turn the heat under the veggies to high, then add a knob of butter and the Worcestershire sauce. Fry for 1 - 2 minutes while stirring. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Put the steak on top of the veggies, then scatter the cheese over the steak.
  • Turn off the heat and put the lid on the pan so the cheese melts.
Serve
4
  • Transfer the potatoes to deep plates.
  • Serve the veggies and steak on top.
