Cooking Steps

Prepare

  • Cut the Romano pepper into strips and slice the onion into half-rings.
  • Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
  • Fry the Romano pepper for 4 - 6 minutes, then remove from the pan and set aside. 
  • Heat a drizzle of olive oil in the same pan and fry the onion for 2 - 3 minutes.
Fry the chicken

  • Add the chicken and half of the BBQ rub.*
  • Fry for 7 - 8 minutes, then remove from the pan and set aside.
  • Heat the tortillas in the same pan for 1 - 2 minutes per side.
  • Meanwhile, grate the carrot and cut the lettuce into thin strips.

*Take care, this ingredient is spicy! Use as preferred.

Make the sauce

  • In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise with the water for the sauce and the rest of the BBQ rub. 
  • Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  • Quarter the lime.

  • Serve all the elements separately at the table and allow everyone to build their own tacos (or if preferred, just plate everything directly).
