Cooking Steps

Prepare

  • Boil plenty of water in a pot or saucepan for the rice.
  • Cook the rice for 10 minutes, then drain and set aside.
  • Meanwhile, slice the onion into half-rings. 
  • Cut the bell pepper into strips and slice the mushrooms.

Fry the steak strips

  • Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat and fry the steak strips for 4 minutes, then remove from the pan and set aside.
  • Fry the onion and the bell pepper in the same pan for 2 - 3 minutes, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  • Add the mushrooms and fry for another 2 - 3 minutes, then deglaze with the Worcestershire sauce.

  • Add the BBQ rub* and the Sicilian-style herbs, then crumble in the stock cube (see pantry for amount).
  • Fry for 30 seconds, then stir in the cream.
  • Bring to a gentle boil, then allow to thicken and reduce for 3 - 5 minutes.
  • Finely chop the parsley in the meantime.

*Take care, this ingredient is spicy! Use as preferred.

Serve

  • Transfer the steak strips to the sauce and simmer for 1 - 2 minutes.
  • Serve everything on deep plates and garnish with the parsley.
