Cooking Steps

Prepare

  • Boil plenty of water in a pot or saucepan and cook the rice for 10 minutes until done, then drain and set aside.
  • Crush or mince the garlic. 
  • Cut the onion into half rings.
Fry

  • Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a wok or a deep frying pan on medium-high heat. Fry the beef strips for 4 minutes, then remove from the pan and set aside.
  • Add the onion, garlic, mangetout, vegetable medley, and half of the sambal* to the wok and fry for 4 - 6 minutes.
  • In another frying pan, heat a light drizzle of olive oil over medium-high heat and fry the eggs.

*Take care, this ingredient is spicy! Use as preferred.

  • Add the soy sauce, ketjap, rice and beef strips to the veggies and fry together for 1 - 2 minutes.
  • Turn off the heat and add more soy sauce and ketjap to taste.
Serve

  • Serve the steak fried rice on deep plates.
  • Top with the fried egg. 
  • Drizzle the rest of the sambal over the fried eggs and some more ketjap as preferred. 
  • Top with the crispy fried onions.
