- Boil plenty of water in a pot or saucepan and cook the rice for 10 minutes until done, then drain and set aside.
- Crush or mince the garlic.
- Cut the onion into half rings.
- Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a wok or a deep frying pan on medium-high heat. Fry the beef strips for 4 minutes, then remove from the pan and set aside.
- Add the onion, garlic, mangetout, vegetable medley, and half of the sambal* to the wok and fry for 4 - 6 minutes.
- In another frying pan, heat a light drizzle of olive oil over medium-high heat and fry the eggs.
*Take care, this ingredient is spicy! Use as preferred.
- Add the soy sauce, ketjap, rice and beef strips to the veggies and fry together for 1 - 2 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and add more soy sauce and ketjap to taste.
- Serve the steak fried rice on deep plates.
- Top with the fried egg.
- Drizzle the rest of the sambal over the fried eggs and some more ketjap as preferred.
- Top with the crispy fried onions.
