- Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Fry the potatoes with the smoked paprika for 10 - 12 minutes until done.
- Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Cut the Romano pepper into strips and slice the onion into thin rings.
Air Fryer Option: drizzle the potatoes with oil and fry for 15 - 25 minutes at 200°C. Shake halfway and avoid overcrowding the basket.
- Melt a knob of butter in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat (see Tip).
- Fry the Romano pepper with the onion and the burger for 3 - 4 minutes per side (or use an extra pan if necessary).
Tip: if you have time, cut open the hamburger bun and toast it first for 3 - 5 minutes (face-down) before proceeding with the rest of the step.
- Cut the tomato into wedges.
- Serve the lettuce on plates and top with the tomato.
- Drizzle with the white wine vinegar and some extra virgin olive oil as preferred.
- Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Cut open the hamburger bun and spread with the smoky tomato ketchup.
- Top with the burger, the Romano pepper and the onion, as well as some lettuce if preferred.
- Serve the potatoes and mayonnaise alongside.
