Cooking Steps

Prepare

  • Cut the Romano pepper into strips and slice the onion into half-rings.
  • Heat a light drizzle of olive oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. 
  • Fry the Romano pepper with the onion, the Mexican-style spices* and the BBQ rub* for 2 - 4 minutes.
  • Add the steak strips and fry for 4 more minutes.

*Take care, these ingredients are spicy! Use as preferred.

Make the salsa

  • Deseed the green chili pepper* and slice into thin rings.
  • Finely chop the fresh herbs, being sure to keep them separate. 
  • Juice the lime and dice the tomato.
  • In a small bowl, combine the tomato with the chili pepper, the coriander, the extra virgin olive oil and half of the lime juice.

*Take care, this ingredient is spicy! Use as preferred.

Heat the tortillas

  • In another small bowl, combine the mayonnaise with the mint and half of the remaining lime juice.
  • Heat a clean frying pan over medium-high heat and warm the tortillas for 1 - 2 minutes per side.
  • Crumble the cheese in the meantime.
Serve

  • Spread the tortillas with the mint mayonnaise.
  • Top with the fried vegetables, the steak strips, the salsa and the cheese.
  • Drizzle with the rest of the lime juice as preferred.
