Cooking Steps

Prepare

  • Cut the onion into half rings.
  • Dice the tomato.
  • Roughly chop the butter lettuce.
Fry

  • Divide the beef mince among the tortillas and press down to form a smash burger on each one.  
  • Press half of the onion into each smash burger (see Tip).
  • Heat a large clean frying pan over medium-high heat and fry each tortilla with the burger facing down for 2 - 3 minutes, then flip and fry for 2 minutes on the other side. 

Tipf you don't like raw onion, fry all of the onion here with the smash burger tortillas.

  • Mix the mayonnaise, mustard (see pantry for amounts), ketchup, chopped pickles, and salt and pepper in a small bowl. 
  • In a salad bowl, combine the butter lettuce, red cabbage, diced tomato, remaining onion and half of the mayo dressing.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Scatter the cheese over the tortillas and allow to melt for 1 minute.
Serve
4
  • Serve the tortillas on plates.
  • Top with some of the salad.
  • Drizzle over the rest of the mayonnaise dressing.
  • Serve the remaining salad on the side.
