Instructies

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C. 
  • Transfer the puff pastry to a parchment-lined baking sheet. 
  • Peel and core the apple, then cut it into slices. Transfer the apples to a large bowl.
  • Juice half a lemon and combine the lemon juice with the apple slices.

  • In a bowl, combine 110 g granulated sugar with the cinnamon and flour. 
  • Add the raisins, sliced almonds and flour mixture to the apples and mix well. 
  • Divide the apple-mixture lengthways over the middel of the puff pastry, but stay clear of the ends.

  • Fold the puff pastry from the top and bottom over the apple filling, while making sure the top and bottom overlap to close the strudel. Also fold the sides closed and make sure to seal all the seams well.
  • Turn the apfelstrudel over so the seams are facing down.
  • Poke a few holes in the top of the strudel with a fork.
  • Bake the apfelstrudel in the oven for 30 - 35 minutes.

  • Meanwhile, transfer the cream and 1 tbsp sugar to a grease-free tall container (see Tip).
  • Beat the cream with a mixer until stiff peaks form.
  • Garnish the apfelstrudel with the icing sugar.
  • Cut the apple strudel into thick slices and serve with the whipped cream.

Tip: add more sugar as preferred.
