Cooking Steps

Prepare

  • Boil plenty of water in a saucepan. Carefully transfer the egg to the water and boil for 5 - 7 minutes, then rinse under cold water.
  • Slice the onion into half-rings.
  • Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat and fry the onion for 3 - 4 minutes.
  • Deglaze with the balsamic vinegar, then remove from the pan and set aside.

Fry the chicken

  • Fry the chicken in the same pan for 6 - 7 minutes per side over medium-high heat (see Tip). Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  • Meanwhile, roughly chop the lettuce.
  • Slice the carrot into thin crescents and crush or mince the garlic.
  • Juice half of the lemon and cut the rest into wedges.

Tip: add some more oil if necessary. 

Make the dressing

  • In a bowl, combine the Worcestershire sauce with the garlic, the lemon juice, the mayonnaise and the mustard. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  • Transfer the lettuce to a salad bowl, then add half of the dressing and toss well to combine.
  • Heat a clean frying pan over medium-high heat and warm the tortillas for 1 - 2 minutes per side.
Serve

  • Peel and quarter the egg. Slice the chicken.
  • Fill the tortillas with the lettuce, the chicken, the onion, the carrot and the egg.
  • Serve the wraps on plates and drizzle with the rest of the dressing.
  • Grate the cheese directly over to finish.
