- Heat a drizzle of sunflower oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Fry the bao buns 2 - 3 minutes per side or until golden-brown, then remove from the pan.
- Use a peeler or cheese slicer to shave the carrot into thin ribbons
- Heat a drizzle of sunflower oil in the same pan and fry the carrot for 1 - 2 minutes, then transfer to a bowl.
- Drizzle the carrot with the sesame oil, then season with salt and pepper.
- Slice the cucumber into crescents and the onion into thin half-rings.
- Deseed and finely chop the red chili pepper*.
- In a bowl, combine the white balsamic vinegar with the mayonnaise, the sugar and a pinch of salt.
*Take care, this ingredient is spicy! Use as preferred.
- Add the cucumber, the chili pepper and half of the onion (see Tip). Toss well to combine.
- Crush or mince the garlic.
- Heat a drizzle of sunflower oil in the same pan over medium-high heat.
- Fry the steak strips, the garlic, the Korean-style spices and the rest of onion for 3 minutes.
Tip: if you don’t like raw onion, fry all of it with the meat instead.
- Add the bulgogi sauce and fry for 1 more minute. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Meanwhile, roughly chop the coriander.
- Fill the bao buns with the steak strips and some of the carrot ribbons. Garnish with the coriander.
- Serve the cucumber salad and the rest of the carrot ribbons alongside.
