Nutri-Score is a food choice logo on the front of a package or recipe card and helps you choose the recipe with a better nutrient composition. To make the conscious choice even easier, Nutri-Score is also visible in the menu in your online account and in our app. Nutri-Score shows whether the recipe is a better choice compared to other recipes on the menu. Recipes with a dark green A have a better nutrient composition than recipes with a dark orange E. This does not mean that a recipe with a green A or B is always healthy, but it does mean that it is a better choice than a recipe with an orange D. Nutri-Score has been official in the Netherlands since January 1, 2024. France, Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Belgium also use Nutri-Score. Nutri-Score was developed by scientists. The governments of all these countries monitor the use of the Nutri-Score together. In this way they ensure control.

What is Nutri Score?

Nutri-Score is a translation of the nutritional values ​​of the recipe per 100 grams, shown in a score from A to E. This makes it easy to recognize recipes with a better nutrient composition when choosing your recipes every week. Look, compare and choose! Do you want to know exactly what nutritional values ​​are in a recipe? The detailed nutritional values ​​of the recipe remain in the online menu and on the recipe card. The following guidelines have been applied to each recipe: 
<ul>
<li>All recipes contain at least 200 grams of (uncooked) vegetables per portion.</li>
<li>In addition to the recipes with potatoes and white pasta, there are also options with whole grains or a healthy carbohydrate component with more fiber every week. </li>
<li>Recipes that are relatively high in calories or contain more salt will receive a tip on the recipe card to reduce the calories and/or salt content.</li>
</ul>

More than 50 percent of the European population is overweight. Obesity is often a result of making unhealthy food choices and overconsumption. Being overweight increases the risk of developing diabetes, heart failure and other lifestyle diseases. Nutri-Score is a simple food choice logo that uses colors and letters. Nutri-Score helps consumers choose a recipe or product with a better composition of nutrients within a product group.

Why is using Nutri-Score important? 

The score is calculated based on nutritional values ​​that are or are not recommended. Our recipes fall into the product group 'meals and recipes' and may therefore only be compared with meals and recipes (see <a href="https://open.overheid.nl/documents/ronl-34c6383f5747298a4d0a93c2ac884f150557f51e/pdf">here</a> on page 101 all others product groups). So you cannot compare a recipe with a product from our range, for example a carton of milk, but you can compare it with all other recipes on the menu. The Nutri-Score is calculated on the prepared recipe.* This means ; without cutting waste from your vegetables, with moisture loss from grains and reduction of saturated fat in certain types of meat and fish and including the use of basic ingredients such as low-salt stock and oil. We do not include adding basic ingredients 'to taste'.

How is Nutri-Score calculated?

The menu changes from week to week and so does the number of recipes with a certain score. We always ensure that you can choose from sufficient recipes with a Nutri-Score A or B every week. View in the menu how the different types of recipes - for example with meat, fish or completely veggie - influence the Nutri-Score.
