Quality and freshness always come first when selecting the ingredients in the box. That is why we choose, where possible, to work directly with nearby suppliers who are also committed to sustainability. This way, the ingredients don't have to travel too long and we know exactly where they come from and how they were produced.

We purchase the ingredients based on your order and you receive them in exactly the right quantities. For example, we aim for less than 0.2% food waste in our chain and home cooks with HelloFresh waste an average of 38% less food worldwide than when they do their own shopping and cooking.

We work on making our packaging more sustainable, reducing and optimizing it every day. Our goal? Less waste and ensuring you get the best fresh ingredients. Why are some ingredients packed in your box? So that we can be sure that they arrive fresh to you. This way less ends up in the trash and we prevent food waste.
Our commitment to sustainability
At HelloFresh we take sustainability seriously. In 2022, we have set scientifically based emission reduction targets. These are in line with the Paris Climate Agreement target of limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees. Your meal box, naturally sustainable
Every week we purchase the ingredients based on your order and you receive them in exactly the right quantities. This way we hardly have any food waste in our chain and you waste less food at home than if you prepare dinner yourself. In addition, HelloFresh has a super short chain: we avoid extra stops on our routes and prefer to source ingredients from nearby, so that they do not take too long in transit and remain fresh. We are also always looking for new ways to optimize our delivery process and reduce the number of kilometers our delivery drivers travel.* The result: your HelloFresh meals produce 11% less CO2 emissions than the same meals made with ingredients from the supermarket .
