Cooking Steps

  • Roughly chop the tomatoes. 
  • Tear the mozzarella into small pieces. 
  • Finely chop half of the basil.
  • Add the tomatoes, mozzarella, and chopped basil to a bowl, along with the extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Season with salt and pepper and mix together.

  • Divide the mixture into two small bowls, then press down on each bowl with the back of a spoon.
  • Cover and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.

  • Place a plate on top of each bowl, then invert and gently lift the bowl to release the caprese domes.
  • Drizzle the basil crème on top.
  • Garnish with the rest of the basil leaves and serve.
